This is a major project for the Briss Family, and we hope it sparks interest among cousins of all ages. It is based on the book Flat Stanley, in which a young boy unexpectedly wakes up flat one morning and has many adventures until he can be restored to his properly three-dimensional self. While Stanley is flat, he visits some friends by folding himself into an envelope and mailing himself there. It is a popular school project in the United States for children to read the book and then make Flat Stanley paper dolls, which each child mails to friends and family, and the class sees whose Flat Stanley travels farthest. Our own Flat Sam and Flat Sara are visiting cousins in Australia, South Africa, Israel, England, and across the entire United States, from Maine to Hawaii. Take photos of Sam and Sara enjoying themselves with you. Whether you share a meal at the dining table, or a day in town, show Sam and Sara what's special about you and the place you live. The descriptions and photographs of their adventures will be posted here as they are received, so the whole family can check in and find out what in the world Sam and Sara are doing now! Need your own Sam and Sara dolls? Email me to request them, and I'll send them on their way! |
